Abstrak

The integration of multimedia in educational settings offers significant advantages, providing educators with tools to enhance the learning experience. At SMPN 2 Baula, multimedia has been implemented to improve the quality of teaching and learning processes, specifically in Islamic Religious Education (IRE). This study investigates the effectiveness of multimedia in increasing student motivation and engagement in the classroom. Through interviews with teachers and students, it was observed that traditional teaching methods, such as lectures, often led to disengagement and lack of focus among students. The introduction of multimedia tools, including PowerPoint presentations and YouTube videos, revitalized the learning environment, making it more interactive and enjoyable. Students reported increased enthusiasm and attentiveness during lessons, attributing this to the visual and dynamic nature of multimedia. Furthermore, the study highlights the procedural aspects of multimedia usage at SMPN 2 Baula, where teachers coordinate with multimedia operators to access the school's limited resources. The findings suggest that multimedia not only enhances the delivery of complex concepts but also fosters a more engaging and participatory learning atmosphere. However, the study also emphasizes the need for adequate training for educators to effectively utilize multimedia tools. The results underscore the potential of multimedia to transform traditional educational practices, promoting active learning and improving overall student outcomes. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on multimedia in education and provides practical insights for educators aiming to integrate technology into their teaching strategies.
